WALSYWA ENTERS THE PHOTOVOLTAIC MARKET – FOTOVOLT MAGAZINE

Walsywa, which operates in the civil construction fixation market, decided to start its operations in the photovoltaic segment recently. The company, whose flagship are chemical and mechanical anchors, saw in the growth of the solar segment the greater demand for more technical applications and approvals. “We intend to differentiate ourselves in the solar market, as we did in the fixation for civil construction, through a highly trained team, providing good service, efficient logistics (24-hour delivery to a large part of the country), laboratory and development of products that meet the demands of customers and competitive conditions”, says João Pedro Schrott, CEO of Walsywa.

For the photovoltaic segment, the company supplies the Solar line, which comprises end clamps, flat and rubber washers, flanged hex nuts, screws (hammer, French and Allen, with and without heads), rods and rod assemblies, straight plates with hole, chemical and mechanical anchors, as well as fasteners developed for special projects. According to the company, the entire series is produced in 100% passivated stainless steel, which guarantees weather resistance, allowing for greater durability and simpler maintenance.

Without revealing the amount invested in the factory to produce the PV equipment, the company claims that most of the resources were allocated more to laboratory and testing devices than to machinery and equipment. “Since these products are very close to what we already had, we turned our investments to the specification and sales platform. We invest in training, people, specific laboratory equipment, an additional van for training, in addition to products, marketing and fairs”, he says. “We understand that the market still has a lot to grow, and for this reason, we made investments considering the next 5 to 7 years”, he adds.

By 2020, the company aims to achieve a 10% share of the photovoltaic market. The expectation is to grow from 5% to 10% annually. “Even with the covid-19 crisis, the segment is still growing exponentially. We believe that with the drop-in interest rates in recent years and its historical low, in addition to the speed with which the technology in the sector advances, with an increase in productivity and scale, growth should continue, regardless of external factors”, predicts Schrott.

Walsywa, founded in 1964, was a pioneer in the development of a powder fastening system in Brazil. Currently, the company has several fastening lines, such as mechanical, chemical and others, covering infrastructure, oil and gas, dry construction, and now solar markets. It has three units in Brazil, located in Louveira (SP), Piçarras (SC) and Camanducaia (MG).

RFS System: What’s the difference between it and the traditional system?

The Naja tool has the exclusive RFS system, Rapid Fire System, which further enhances the productivity of this gas tool, increasing the speed of applications by 7%.

The RFS is used with pins already mounted on the accessories. Linked to productivity, this type of pin is essential for the operator who does not like to waste time on the job, avoiding extra manipulations to carry out the fixation and bringing greater ease in fitting the pin, which is carried out directly on the tool tip.

By not using separate pins and accessories, as is done in the traditional system, there is no need to use the magazine, which can be removed to carry out the applications of the steel pins. Thus, the tool’s weight is considerably reduced by 23%, making it more comfortable for the operator and avoiding premature physical wear. In addition, because the pins are already assembled, the use of the magnetic ring developed to lock loose accessories on the tool tip is avoided, which, being a small component, can be easily lost in construction works.

The RFS system is unique and patented. It’s reference! Reference, it’s Walsywa!

Yellow May: know the movement and be part of it

The high rate of deaths and injuries in traffic is alarming throughout the world, even so, before the popularization of the movement in question, a situation as worrying as this did not receive the necessary attention, nor measures to raise society’s awareness by the government.

The Yellow May campaign was created with the purpose of filling this gap and putting issues on road safety on the agenda, to mobilize society, government agencies, companies, professional associations, and associations. This is done through actions that engage individuals and spread knowledge, addressing the breadth that the issue of traffic requires, in the most different spheres.

Find out how you can collaborate

Approximately 90% of accidents worldwide are caused by driver recklessness. In Brazil, in data collected until October 2019 by the Federal Highway Police, lack of attention topped the list, followed by disobedience to traffic laws, incompatible speed and alcohol consumption.

Therefore, helping to reduce the number of traffic accidents is a practice that is within everyone’s reach and, for this, simple measures such as:

– Obey the speed limit of the lanes

– Respect all traffic laws

– Give space to pedestrians and cyclists

– Always use the seat belt

– Carry out regular vehicle inspections

– Do not drive under the influence of alcohol, transport by app is an excellent and practical alternative

Save time and reduce risks: meet the Walsywa Drywall Lift!

The Drywall Lift is another launch by Walsywa to bring practicality and safety to you. Among its main features, the product supports up to 65kg, reaches a maximum suspension height of the plates of 4.2 meters and supports panels of up to 120 x 485 centimeters. It also helps to reduce the number of people at the time of installation, in addition to reducing installer fatigue and the risk of accidents.

Its base material is drywall technology, which, among the main benefits, are speed and stability. This system replaces conventional masonry in building internal fences. As installation is faster than traditional systems, it is possible to reduce the project’s delivery time.

The Plate Elevator is part of our Drywall Construction Fastening line, known for its product portfolio. Walsywa was the first Brazilian company to launch a complete line of screws for drywall construction technology. Nails, tapes, dowels, screws, and tools for the drywall construction system are also included.

How to apply

To use the elevator, our tip is to position it in the direction of the gap to be closed by the plate and lock the wheels. After that, insert the plate into the elevator and turn the handle, raising it to the desired height.

Innovation DNA

At 55 years, Walsywa is the company that launches more products on the market

Since its foundation, in 1964, Walsywa has had as its trademark to innovate with the development of new products, consolidating itself in the market initially with the launch of the Walsywa Perforated Tape and the CB Mechanical Anchor. And, to this day, the company continues with its vocation to innovate.

The big bet

This year, the revolution is due to the new DTR-35 tool, developed especially for some of the fastest growing sectors in Brazil, plaster/drywall, and electrical and hydraulic installations.
Allowing fastenings up to 5 meters high, the DTR-35 eliminates the need for ladders and scaffolding, in addition to the use of drill, screw and anchor to fix pins in concrete. The tool, 2 to 5 times faster than conventional systems, arrived to provide more comfort and high productivity.

Walsywa Service and Training (SWAT)

This is another revolutionary concept from Walsywa. Launched in July 2018, SWAT is a van equipped with all product lines, which makes visits to dealers across the country to build relationships with customers, offer training and professionalism, increase sales and circulation of customers in stores.

Pioneering

Walsywa was the first Brazilian company in the Fastening sector to be part of the Brazilian Association of Engineering and Structural Consulting, ABECE, thus being present at the biggest events in the sector. Among the most recent are the 2nd National Meeting of Innovation and Construction at Seco, the 11th Brazilian Congress on Bridges and Structures and the 4th Latin American Congress of Steel Frame.

Continuous evolution

This year alone, the company almost doubled the number of employees and even made a big increase in its line of bushings. This and all other releases were recently presented to the market at the two most traditional fairs in the national market, Construsul (30/07 to 02/08) and Concrete Show (14/08).
And from now on, the fruits will continue to be reaped by the company, which will continue to follow the innovation DNA that has established it as a national reference in Fixing for Civil Construction!

Learn about the benefits and products of the Walsywa Chemical Fastening Line

Walsywa’s Chemical Fastening line comprises, among different types of products, chemical anchors. Known for its quality and reference in the market, the injection or capsule anchors serve various types of applications, whether in concrete, masonry, and other base materials.

It is important to be aware because, as in the case of mechanical anchors, with chemicals, installation is a vital process for the correct performance of the fastening system. Understand better below:

A chemical fixation is basically composed of three resistances: that of the concrete, the chemical anchor, and the rod.

When the load applied to the fixture exceeds the strength of one of these elements, a system failure occurs. For safety reasons, check which material is the least resistant in the set. It is also important to highlight that, in relation to the resistance to detachment of chemical anchors, it can occur when there is a change in the specified parameters, the so-called influence factors, which can lead to an increase or decrease in the final load value.

To know all the products in the line and the ideal application types, as well as all the influencing factors, download our complete catalog: https://bit.ly/2OBFaEI.

With expansion, Walsywa moves its Headquarters to Jundiaí/SP

To meet the great growth and demand for even faster deliveries, the company moves to the large logistical and industrial center in the interior.

With space 3 times larger, the objective of this displacement was to establish itself in a place more adequate for the logistic demands of the organization and, at the same time, capable of favoring the continuous improvement of the services provided.

The new headquarters has a space with 8 docks and space to store more than 8 thousand pallets, in addition to games and rest rooms, which resemble the offices of technology companies, bringing greater well-being and integration between employees and departments.

In our new headquarters we will also have 2 training rooms, one internal and one external, where we will be able to train people making applications in real time. Walsywa started training customers more than 40 years ago, using our SWAT (Walsywa Service and Training Service) vans, where you can get to know the products with your hands and not just with your eyes. The success of the vans led us to practical training at our headquarters as well, and now we intend to improve the process even further.

Walsywa Headquarters Images

Interview with João Pedro Schrott, CEO:

What are the main benefits of the new headquarters?

With a ceiling height of 13m, more than 8,000 pallet carrier positions and 8 docks, the company will be able to move its orders with greater speed.

The office has what is most modern, with open spaces, raised floors, and games and rest rooms for greater interaction of employees and departments, in addition to the most modern laboratory, still under construction.

How will the new location favor the improvement of services provided?

Near 2 of the 5 busiest highways in the country, orders can be delivered with greater speed.

Did the solar segment drive the change? Why?

Yes, the segment is growing a lot and we will still have many new features to better serve our customers. The change will allow us to continue with the investment plan for the solar and construction sector, our 2 main focuses.

What are the expectations for the solar market and how does Walsywa intend to collaborate with the sector?

The solar market does not stop growing, and so there is room for new ways to serve customers. There are still few companies like ours, with proven experience in the fastening segment, and conditions to also serve nationally. Combining our efficient logistics with our technical support, we intend to be able to serve within 24 hours more than 200 cities in the southeast and south of the country, where we have our 3 business units.

What main products and releases?

The Solar Line comprises End Clamps, Flat and Rubber Washers, Flanged Hex Nuts, Screws (Hammer, French and Allen, with and without heads), Rods and Rod Assemblies, Straight Plates with Hole, chemical and mechanical anchors and numerous fasteners created for special projects.

The entire line is produced in 100% passivated INOX which makes it even more resistant to the weather to which a photovoltaic panel is exposed, ensuring greater durability and simpler maintenance.

Allied to this wide variety of products, we have all the technical support of our Engineering. We perform calculations and tests in loco, help our customers to have the best technical-commercial solution and provide training.

Was there any practical application of these products in the new matrix?

By the end of the year, we will have news in our new matrix, which will use a series of products.

ANSWER: Even with covid-19, the segment still grows exponentially, we believe that with the drop-in interest rates in recent years and its historic low, in addition to the speed with which the sector’s technology advances, with increased productivity and scale, growth should continue regardless of external factors.

In relation to the photovoltaic market in Brazil, it is growing exponentially. In 2020, we intend to reach a 10% share and expect to grow 5%-10% annually until we become the benchmark.

RBS MAGAZINE: Why did the company decide to operate in the solar segment? When did you start acting in this segment?

ANSWER: Walsywa started its trajectory in 1964, serving the gunpowder fixation market. Since then, it has developed hundreds of new lines and applications, with a presence in Brazil and abroad, although it is better known for its chemical and mechanical anchors.
With the growth of the solar segment in the last 4 years, the demand for more technical applications and approvals grew, which drew our attention to the market, which we serve with more technical applications and, now, we intend to serve also in the most common applications, with a extensive range of fasteners and other chemical and mechanical products.

With the project in mind, we invested in training, people, specific laboratory equipment, an additional training van, in addition to products, marketing and fairs. We understand that the market still has a lot to grow, and for this reason, we made investments considering the next 5-7 years.
